CAST & CREW

With participants from over 15 churches throughout Baltimore, Washington, D.C and Northern, VA, Excellent Productions has grown to over 65 members strong. We specialize in offering an opportunity to develop talent in all areas of the arts, i.e. dance, vocals, instrumental, theater, set design, directing, managing and promotions. This opportunity is given to those that would have difficulties participating in conventional theater programs-young parents. Young Adults, side-by-side with their children learn the magnificents of the theater as our loving environment works hard to manifest Excellence in them.

Our program has also offered positive forms of expression for many at-risk youth that suffer from ADHD, Bipolarism and abuse. We look forward to the continued growth of this program!

What have we done in the past...

Past productions have been “The Colored Museum” by George C. Wolfe(2002) and “Purlie Victorious” by Ossie Davis (2003), in which Melba Moore herself joined us for one performance. Continuing with our remarkable orginal productions of “The Music in My Soul” and "Church Chronicles-containing six original songs by local author Ramona D. Jones-Maddox

In continuing with this ambition Excellent Productions is in the midst of creating two new works for this Fall Season and next Spring. The best is yet to come!

Chairperson Ramona Jones-Maddox

Exhausted from performing others literary work, after completing her first short novel,  in 2003 it was suggested that she write her own play. February 2004 "The Music in my Soul" took off running and hasn't stopped yet. To her credit she opened with a second musical February 2005 called "Church Chronicles", Why are Young People Leaving the Church? Now there's no stopping her. Her only desire is to return the stage its historical glamour and prestige that she remembers as a young girl.
