Sunday afternoon on the Avenue...........Its called the Stroll!

This historical dramatization colorizes some of the personalities and business owners that existed on Pennsylvania Avenue during the early Twenties. Wrapped  in the middle of a love triangle between a minister and two potentially wayward women; this satire looks at the emerging erntetainment culture that will in future decades consume the Northwest area of Baltimore. As blacks began to own property and establish a strong revenue base, the duplicitous nature of the black culture is attacked by prohibitionist that finds the activities of the night life a moral degradation to the community.

Excellent Productions was fabulous! The show...full of dancing and singing...managed to be both educational and entertaining. The audience LOVED the performance and was very engaged throughout. Thank you for helping to make it happen. / Mary Beth Jefferson M.S.

I‘ve been to Ramona’s last three plays and this is the best thing she has ever written. / Dana Lewis HBO, The Wire

Auditions for the Music in My Soul begin Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 3600 Ferndale Ave.

THE MUSIC IN MY SOUL

The Music in My Soul is a production that has something for everyone!  By documenting a history of African-American music through the life and trials of one American family; you will experience the telling of the black experience in song and dance. From spirituals to hip-hop, this massive conglomeration of creativity contains approximately fifty songs that are either, played, sang or danced. It is the first documented source of African-American music that covers almost every genre. But, this experience is not just song and dance, it goes even further. It cross-references the attitudes and perspectives of the people in the African-American community that caused such musical expressions to be produced. Bringing forth dialog spoken by our most renowned community leaders from each decade.
